Today, my boyfriend and I welcomed our first son into the world. After I gave birth, he said he was going home to make sure the house was ready for baby. A few hours later, he was tagged in a Facebook photo by a mutual friend at the local bar. FML

There's an assortment of reasons this could be. But looking at a different angle, maybe he's terrified. Bringing a child into the world can be a very daunting thing and maybe he needed a brief moment to collect himself before undergoing being a fulltime dad.

Odd, but my gut thinks there is more to this. Maybe he wants one more hurrah, before baby duty 24/7 for the next 18 years? Or he could just be another douche.

Maybe he finished cleaning and decided on a celebratory drink. It’s not like he’d be bringing a baby to a bar necessarily.

He’s doing just that. Kids drive you to drink! He’s just off to a fast start.

I had a friend with a shirt that said: daddy drinks because you cry.

Cracking open a cold one with the boys!(And in the future he will be able to say I cracked one open when you were born now I crack one when you’re ready go.)

Nothing wrong with a drink after the amazing gift of life, and it's traditional in most cultures, not to mention it sounds like the friends took him out to the bar,so go easy on him and congratulations, kids will make you laugh and cry harder then anything in the world.😊

If he's there with friends then maybe his buddies took him out for a celebration drink. No need to assume the worst, insecurity is a bad trait.

I can understand the need to celebrate and relax after witnessing hours of labor and childbirth, but the main issue is this: he told her he would be home preparing for the baby (something responsible), and then was revealed to be out drinking with the guys (probably not responsible behavior).

On top of the fact that she’s stuck in the hospital probably feeling miserable since she just gave birth.

One last pub crawl before he retires.
