Today, I asked my mom if I could borrow $20 since I don’t get paid until Friday. She responded with, “Why don’t you return those packages that arrived this week from your online shopping sprees?” FML

Today, I realised that despite having a full-time job I must really be failing at this adulting business, because I called my dad and the first words out of his mouth were, "I’m not sending you any more money." I do borrow money a lot, and yes I was about to ask for more. What the hell is wrong with me? FML

Today, my mom stole my holiday money because she found it “near her bag” in my kitchen and “assumed it was hers” and she must have “forgotten it was in there all this time.” I demanded it back, but she’d already spent it on hair, nails, shoes, and a date night with dad. She won’t pay me back either. FML

Today, my mother asked me if she could borrow $200. Being the lovely daughter I am, I gave her my bank card to withdraw it herself. She gambled it away and maxed my bank account out. I had $1500 saved. FML

Today, my mom yelled at me because I refused to lend her money. The reason I won't lend her money? The last time I did, she and my dad went out and bought a Macbook and a new car instead of paying bills. Apparently, I'm being 'selfish' by keeping my own money and putting it towards university. FML

Out of curiosity, what was in the packages? If it was necessary clothing or care products, that's one thing. If it's just a bunch of non-essentials, that's another story.

Because it will take a while to get the cash. Why ask mom for a loan when the credit card companies will loan you money without judgment? And if you pay it back within a month, without interest, either.

Not wrong. You should be making sure you have enough funds for gas and everything before shopping sprees. Parents are not ATMs. Their job is to put a roof over your head and food in your stomach until you are 18 or 19.

If you need to borrow 20$ while you wait for your next paycheck, you have a bigger problem. And you definitely should not go on shipping spree. I am with your mom on this.
