Today, after almost a year of no steady work, I struggled to get anything done once my 7-months pregnant girlfriend woke up at noon. She wanted to talk the whole time, and eventually broke down crying because of her relationship with her mother. I spent the the day consoling her. No wonder I can't get any work. FML

Today, I got home after working 14 hours completely exhausted and found my wife asleep, after not sleeping for at least 4 nights with our newborn. She woke up and couldn’t remember where she'd left the baby. After a mad panic, she remembered that he's with her mother. We are not coping very well. FML

Today, my newborn daughter has kept me up all day and all night for the past few days. Usually my husband sleeps. I finally cracked and yelled for his help, only for him to scream at me that he needs sleep and gives her to me anyway. FML

Today, stressed to the point of breakdown over my impending daughter's birth, I went to a small church. After a long talk with the pastor, I finally began to feel some calm and peace. Too bad my wife flipped out, accused me of wanting to make her a "handmaid" and made me sleep on the couch. FML

Today, my girlfriend begged me to stay up late and video chat with her because she missed me. Even though I work early mornings, I reluctantly agreed. After waiting up until 2am for her to get online, I gave up. She had fallen asleep. FML

Today, I'm exhausted and sore from a long night of pulling semis out of the snow. My wife is pissed because I want to sleep, instead of be with her. Every time I drift off, she starts doing things like loudly unloading the dishwasher or standing by our bedroom door talking loudly on the phone. FML

Are you blaming your year of unemployment on your pregnant girlfriend needing the occasional emotional support? That’s ridiculous. You don’t get work done bc you’re not doing your work, not because of her.

I can't make a judgement on this without knowing all the issues going on. Damage has probably been spread out over time/space to reduce impact, but stress adds up. Don't place the blame on a single person, work through the issues. There's probably a lot of misunderstandings going on. I know I'm confused reading this. All we can do is try our best.

Oh god I've been there. Being with someone who is so toxic that THEY are more important than actually getting your lives in order. Because you always have to drop everything for them immediately and can never consistently keep a job or get anything done around the house because you're always catering to their issues.
