Today, my wife spent a ton of money she took from me for a very expensive lingerie because, "it makes her feel more feminine and beautiful." Again. All this stuff just gathers dust in her drawers, and she keeps wearing the same ugly raggedy underwear for 3-4 days in a row, which is actually disgusting. FML

Have you tried (gently) talking to her about depression? The hygiene neglect/shopping spree cycle is suggestive of this.

I agree. maybe before getting angry, irritated and being disgusted. maybe it's actually giving you a lot of critical clues as to how she may be feeling mentally, whether she's fully aware or not. and maybe it's your job to check in with her emotional and mentally. and also... maybe leave out the word "disgusting" and replace it with, concerning... 🤷‍♀️ idk
