Training day

Today, my work sent out a fake phishing email as a test. I didn’t fall for it, but because I’m in tech support, we were flooded with panicked callers. People who fell for it have to take training, or their accounts will be locked - which means we will be flooded with panicked callers again. FML

You are the type of people who deserves a bonus, a bunch of spa days, and dinner at a fine restaurant, paid for by the company. Maybe an award or two.

I call those "entrapment emails" that my company also sends to random persons. I wonder how ethical those are.

That’s kind of a cruel but, I guess, effective way to find out who would fall for a phishing email. I would think that it would actually be better to just require everyone to take a brief training course since just because someone ignored or didn’t notice the test email doesn’t mean they will ignore the next one.
