Today, my new neighbors moved in. They have a chihuahua that constantly barks all throughout the day. It makes a great addition to my other neighbors that have a rooster that goes off at sunrise every morning. FML

OP here! this actual happened a while ago, but the principle is still the same. the neighbors with the chihuahua, they occasionally yell at the dog to shut up. for the most part, they do nothing. it's not too loud to legally make a noise complaint, but loud enough to be an awful annoyance. as for the ones with the rooster, they don't even speak English. they're from Hong Kong, so they only speak Cantonese, which i don't speak. and i live in the middle of suburbia, so the rooster is very illegal. a 1000$ fine, i believe, if reported. the rooster usually gets really loud around 10, so it sometimes wakes me up, sometimes not. the chihuahua is pretty much 24/7. any more suggestions are more than welcome though, thanks!

If the rooster is illegal why don't you just report it.

let's have them meet each other, see if the doggy likes to eat ****

I have a neighbor who had a rooster only he had no sense of time. People told me it happens when they get old so I just waited for that stupid thing to die

Roosters crow all the time , though. Not just at dawn. It doesn't just happen when they get old. They crow for different reasons multiple times a day. 4am, dawn, noon, 7pm, it makes no difference.

The rooster is an emblem. The dog needs to learn English

Sounds like you live in the hood, like me. Honestly, it gets better. You start to block it out naturally after a little while. I thought I never would, but now I don't even notice. Or you could get an outdoor cat. Another neighbor had 2. They would gang up on the rooster, bonk it on the head, and run away. 'Twas quite amusing to watch. They tried it with the small dogs but the bigger dogs always chased them away first.

I ment to up vote you, sorry. Your comment was great!

I predict a 50% reduction of the problem if those two pets were to meet. Just a hint, OP. ;)

Then op would only have the rooster problem ;-)

you'll probably get used to it after a while, then you won't be able to sleep without noise.

My parents live in the country and have neighbors who sometimes keep roosters. They'd crow all day long!
