Today, my mother took $200 from me, because she was tired of her tablet being slow and doesn't have a job to buy a new one with her own money. I'm 17 and now out $200. FML

Oh boy! Abusive "parenting!" The origin of many cases of trust issues and anxiety. More productive comment wise: Talk to the banks in your area, see if they offer bank accounts to minors, and if so, ask if they would be able to bar your mother from accessing it despite being technically a minor. If not, set up an account and make sure they don't send you any mail your mother could see (paper, electronic, text, etc) and make an account with one, and hide the card on you at all times.
