It isn't that you're too thorough, it's that you're taking too long. Pick up the pace! You have four other patients to take care of. Do what you need to do to take care of your patients, but while you're in one room being extra thorough, no one is doing anything for your other people.

Agreed. If anything, try not to be as thorough while you are still in school and once you are done, apply to work in an environment like ICU where it is a one-on-one beside nursing department (one nurse per patient).

If you have lets say 3 task and you only complete one cuz you're being thorough then yeah. Hospitals are hectic places time management is very important

Depends on what he/she meant by that. Sometimes being thorough with one patient can mean 3 other get no care at all.
