I have problems with using the same toothbrush as my family. I can't even imagine using the same toothbrush with a stranger.

Get a decoy toothbrush and leave it in the bathroom, maybe even clean the toilet with it once in awhile. Hide a new toothbrush in your room so you don't have to worry about him doing this again.
