Today, I went to the DMV for my second attempt to get my license. I did everything perfectly, stayed at the speed limit, did my three-point turn flawlessly, and parked nicely. The lady failed me because I wasn't using the stick shift right. My car doesn't have a stick shift. FML

See? You weren't using it at all.

Haha, my drivers lady told I was one of like 4 people who took their driving text in a stick, out of her entire career. Like a boss. But that shows that these people don't really know how to work a manual anyway

When she was saying you weren't using your stick shift right, she wasn't referring to any part of the car ;) On your retest, take her to a cheap motel, Park your "stick shift" in her and Drive away, grinding her gears a First, Second and even Third time. After your "stick short" goes Neutral, flip her over and do it all over in Reverse, and this time, use Overdrive.

Down in lil ol New Zealand quite a few people learn manual, but most girls learn automatic... im just saying

North Carolina? I knew it! I live in this state and it took me 5 tries though I mastered it by the 2nd try. They just look for ways to fail you.

Let's say OP put the shifter (whether it was an automatic, or not) in 'drive', 'reverse,' or whatever when turning off the engine-as you would in a manual car-instead of 'park'. I'm just saying, maybe that's why she failed.

If you don't drive a stick shift, you don't drive. You just travel. I thought it was your _driver's license_ you were after. And note, y'all, they not only check your ability to drive a car, they also check your ability to handle a car in traffic. That means that they might not be able to say exactly what you did wrong, but they do know that you're not ready for your license. YDI OP

Don't side too quickly with the OP. Leaving the car in "R" for the whole test is a fail.
