Today, I went to get new shoes. I'm a pretty tall girl and I have proportional feet. I asked the cute guy who worked there for a size 9.5. He burst into laughter before putting on a shocked face and saying, "Oh wait... You're serious." Goodbye, self esteem. FML

Today, a male employee at a shoe shop helped me try on shoes. Once I found a pair, I went to pay for them. I was telling the cashier about how great of an employee he was when she told me there were no male employees. A guy with a foot fetish helped me find shoes. FML

Today, I went shopping for a new pair of jeans. I was feeling good about the fact that I was going down a waist size until the cashier decided to discuss with me, three co-workers, and the ten other people in line how she didn't even know jeans came in sizes that big. FML

Today, I was trying on some shoes when I felt the heels break underneath me. Not only did they cost two paychecks worth, but as I was leaving I heard the sales girl say that "we really should have a weight limit for who can try on our products." FML

Today, I was working at a shoe store and was helping a dude try on shoes. He looked like trouble and I wanted to finish with him. When he finally picked his shoes, he abruptly stood up and ran out of the store with the shoes on. The cost of them was deducted from my salary. $240. FML

Today, at work, I was waiting in line to pay my food at the cafeteria when I noticed the doctor who was in front of me had these really cool looking shoes on. I told him, "I like your shoes!" He turned over, looked at me and didn’t say anything back. FML

9.5 isn't even a huge size, I know of women with size 11 feet. Honestly, no one notices your feet, don't worry about it!

Jeez. 9.5 isn't that big. I'm only 5'6" and I'm a size 9 (sometimes 8.5, but usually 9). If there's a whole aisle dedicated to your size at Payless, it is not unusual. I have a friend from high school who is a size 14 (she usually buys men's shoes).

I live in Nebraska and me and most of my friends wear a 9-10 shoe. It's really common I think. I find it weird when I come across someone with size 6s to be honest

He's just pissed because your feet are bigger than his dick. I'm a size 11 OP, big feet are nothing to be ashamed of! Our shoes are better for smacking asshats upside the head. Keep your chin up, if big shoes are all you have to worry about; you'll be just fine :)

What a jerk. I'm 5'11" and need a size 12-13 depending on style, I very very rarely actually see my size in a store. To get dress shoes I have to order from the web, otherwise I usually just get men's converse size 11.

I think I deserve the biggest idiot award right now because I wasn't even aware that your feet were supposed to be proportional to your height but, now that I think about it, it's fairly obvious. I'm 5"8 and a size 5 in UK sizes (7.5 in American sizing?), which is the same as my shorter friends so the thought just never occurred to me. Now I'm paranoid because I have disproportional feet and I'm going to be dwelling on this for the next few minutes...
