Today, I was taking a warm shower when someone in my house flushed the toilet, making the shower extremely hot. In my rush to get out so I wouldn't get burned, I slipped and knocked a tooth out. FML

Today, after a trip to the emergency room for severe stomach pain and almost passing out in the shower, I slipped on the wet bathroom floor and broke my two front teeth. FML

Today, I was taking a shower for the first time in my new apartment. The shower head broke off the wall and slammed onto my head, while spraying water everywhere. I tried to stop the water, but only stopped the cold and got burnt by the hot. FML

Today, as I showered, I sneezed, hit my face on the wall, got shampoo in my eyes, slipped on a bar of soap, bashed my head on the wall as I fell, grabbed at the walls to stop me from falling and happened to turn off the cold water, scorching me. FML

Today, after having a pretty rough day, I decided a nice, hot shower would be great. Ten minutes in, the shower head apparently couldn't take the water pressure anymore, and it flew off and hit me in the face. FML

Today, while reading in the bath, I accidentally switched the shower on. Not wanting my book to get soaked, I threw it out of the tub. When I got out of the tub later, I found it had landed squarely in the toilet. FML

Today, after dealing with tons of drama and working a 14 hour shift, I took a shower. When I stepped out, a weak spot in the floor gave way. While falling through the floor I grabbed the toilet tank lid, which fell into the tank and broke it. Now my leg hurts and the bathroom's flooded. FML

well...people react differently...but how do you not know when someone is taking a shit or piss while you shower?....here are some options to avoid hot water....lock the bathroom door would be a novel idea....you could always toggle the shower head positioning it more to the wall...my primary method is lean against the wall right under the shower head...sometimes we all dont have the same methods because of how bathrooms are set up

To everyone mentally defective person who says "move out of the spray," maybe you dont have showers or maybe u live in a village or whatever but the water can get very hot very fast and the first thing u think is to get the hell out from under it. And if OP was stepping out of the spray maybe he stepped out of the door. Shower floors splash the water up at your legs and that can hurt too. Also OP, i once did this and i went to turn around to move from the spray and smashed into the glass. It didnt break but i had a bruised head and knee.. LOL

I have been in that situation plenty of times. My parents' shower is a tiny little cubicle thing where you hardly have standing room. I always just turn the showerhead. Once the showerhead is turned, you can turn the heat down. Just because this person's inscint was to stupidly try to run away from the water instead of turning the showerhead or stepping out of the stream to the back of the shower, doesn't make everyone ELSE mentally defective. In my experience, it's faster to turn the showerhead than to try and run away and risk slipping and causing injury to yourself.

Most areas in the United States don't have that problem any more. Someone can flush the toilet in my bathroom when I'm taking a shower and I may not noticed except from the sound.
