Today, I was having trouble blowing out the last of the several candles on my bedside table. Exasperated, I blew as hard as I could, which sent hot wax from the other candles shooting into the air, all over my face and into my eyes. FML

Today, I was sitting next to my friend as he blew out the candles on his birthday cake. Some asshole got the bright idea to shove his face in the cake, but they missed and pushed me in instead. The candles were still lit. My hair caught fire. FML

Today, I found a box of birthday candles sitting on the coffee table. Bored, I lit one, and after a minute I threw it away and sat back down on the couch. I started looking at the box and noticed that it said "Magic Re-Lighting Candles" at the exact moment that my trash can burst into flames. FML

Today, I was roasting marshmallows around a campfire when mine burst into flames. I instinctively shook the stick to get it to go out. The flaming marshmallow then catapulted straight into my eye, burning my whole eyelid. FML

Today, as a stressed NHS nurse, I tried to take a relaxing bath, except I dropped my book in the water, my candle set my hair on fire, I slipped getting out and may have broken my finger. The noise woke up my 2 kids, so I had to start their bedtime routine over again and I got bath salt crystals in my eye. FML

Today, I sliced a deep gash into my thumb while carving up bagels. After putting a plaster on, I returned to my room to relax, where I lit a candle. The flame from my new lighter shot up, and set fire to the plaster on my thumb. Now I have a cut AND several burns. FML

The poster is a moron either way you look at it. 1. Burning candles for extended periods of time increases the risk for a fire. 2. Putting your face directly vertical above the flame increases your risk for flame and wax burns. 3. Putting your face directly vertical over a pool of hot wax and blowing hard is just plain stupid. The wax will splash back up as you disturb the surface tension. Methinks the poster should invest in those battery-operated flameless candles. They're practically idiot-proof.

Exasperated???? How many damn candles did you have on your bedside table?? Really you are worn out because you had to blow out maybe 5 small candles? If you had more than 5...goodness you are strange. And wouldn't the hot wax go the other way towards where you were blowing? Are you extremely fat? because that would be a better excuse rather than saying there were just too many candles.
