Today, I was enjoying some "alone time" with the detachable shower head when someone flushed the toilet, causing the cold water to run out and badly scald my genitals. It hurts to walk. FML

um, people still get hot water when you flsuh the toilet? mine never does that. I guess it's just the plumbing.

if you were having "alone time" then how did somebody flush the toilet? if you flush a toilet in another room then it wont affect your shower, obviously it wasnt so much of alone time. close and lock the door next time. YDI

you must have an older home than mine then, cause i can run the dishwasher or washer or even flush a toilet without it changing my water temp. so the OP must have an old home for it to do that

It really just depends on the diameter of the piping. If it's smaller than what's code nowadays, toilet flushing'll cause a change in water temp.
