Today, I was at work at a local hot dog chain. A child (about 10, who I've seen there before) came in to order food for his Dad. He orders very excitedly, and I told him he'd be a great worker here when he gets older. He said "oh no, my Dad says I'm too smart to work in a place like this." FML

LAWL. Love these fast-food ones. Someone's gotta work at 'em. I used to, to pay for college.

Haha, that kid sure told YOU! Don't feel bad though, a job is a job. Too many people don't even have a job.

Burned by a 10 year old. To be honest, working in fast food, you've gotta be prepared to take the shit. At least you're contributing to the economy. If you're of school age, it's not embaressing, you've gotta pay your way through university somehow. If not - get a proper job.

No offense but that kid owned you! Kids say the darndest things, dont they?

So what did your dad tell you? "Son, you've got the brains to work fast food one day. You're too smart to go into something like being a trashman or a politician."

obviously this kid's parents didn't teach him that working at a fast food joint isn't beneath a person

Why do so many people think there is something wrong with someone older working at a fast food place? Not evreyone is cut out for other jobs or college. (or are able to afford such) I say as long as you are working somewhere... to hell with what people think.

So, you got upset enough by something a 10 year old said. Hold on, let me repeat that last part. A 10 year old. Cheezits Crust guy, get over it. It's a friggin little kid. If you allow yourself to get upset by a toddler, then you got some serious self-esteem issues.

Thank you 17, haha. I have no plans to go to university, and I'm perfectly happy with that, because a few more years of school and essays is not for me. I don't WANT to be a doctor, or a lawyer, or a business executive, so why the hell bother? Although it isn't my plan to ever work at a fast food place, I'm perfectly content with my bank/receptionist (one of them is parttime so I have both at the moment) jobs for the forseeable future.
