Today, I was at a bar. When asked if I wanted a refill of my coffee, I said yes, and moved the cup from my lap to the counter. As I did this, the waitress spilled hot coffee right into my crotch. FML

Hi, it's the OP here. I'd just like to say, thanks for all the laughs in the comments, may have made the trip down to the ER worth it. Looks looks like no kind of coffee is in my future, after this happening my first time trying it, after being prodded by an older sibling who brought me (to the bar). I'm sure this will be a story to laugh about for years to come - and a lesson to all: move the cup first. ?

for everyone exclaiming, 'well do you keep burning liquids on your crotch' or 'is the waitress dumb for pouring it on the crotch?' no, that's not how it went. The waitress went to pour the coffee in the cup, she did not expect the man to move it, and consequently the hot coffee hit dick rather than cup. It probably happened so fast that she could not stop mid pour, the OP moved the cup so the waitress could access it at the same time the waitress began to pour

still, you don't pour into someones lap irrespective of whether there's a cup there. you either ask that the cup be placed on the table or you delicately move the cup to a more appropriate place
