Today, I met my husband's family for the first time. My nightmare versions were better. FML

Your husband has made your dreams come true... in a manner of speaking.

But he's your husband? Surely you've met them before?

Yeah, that's why OP said "for the first time". Seriously, dude?

If OP's husband is estranged from his parents it's completely feasible that they weren't invited to the wedding. My cousin didn't introduce her husband to her parents until two years after they married because she emancipated when she was seventeen due to problems within their family

It's okay. I have in laws from Hell, they hate me & always have! My marriage has lasted 23 yrs because I largely ignore them, if they get out of hand, my hubby tells them to back off! Luckily, they live in Florida and are in their mid 80's. I hate to put it that way but I've tried so hard & they've made my life Hell! Get this, I was married to their son & pregnant with their first grandchild when they met me. You'd think they'd have been happy. My hubby was 33 when we married. They thought he'd never get married!

I had a lot of problems with my in-laws when husband and I got together to...6 years later drinking helps when you have to see them lol

I don't get how people get married without ever meeting their spouses family. No sympathy

I'm taking they're angry with her for not inviting them to the wedding. It seems weird to me that she hasn't met the family before getting married. Then again, I don't know the personal details of the husband's family and their relationship so I can't really say anything. I hope they live far from you, OP.

I don't get those people who marry but don't meet their spouse's family.

I'm guessing you are between the ages of 18 and 22, and he's military. If so, you may not have to worry long because I haven't seen many of those marriages make it. But best of luck to you both!
