I am so sorry OP. For future reference: you can request to be put to sleep for an MRI if you have claustrophobia. My grandma has done it that way for years.

I developed claustrophobia after being stuffed into one of those. I had to do it twice because I flipped out the first time. Thankfully the second time I did it I had meds.

I know how you feel OP, I too am claustrophobic and have to have MRI's on a regular occasion. The worst is when you fall asleep and you wake up not knowing where you are ? I hope your scan wasn't for anything too serious.

you are not alone. the same thing happened to me. i ended up getting scanned in an open fMRI.

I had the same thing happen! Needless to say I never went back and still haven't gotten the MRI done

I totally understand what you went through, I had the same reaction the first time I had an MRI....totally freaked out.
