Today, I ignored my cat's incessant meowing, and pushed him away every time he wanted to be petted. The next time I walked downstairs I found him dead. FML

Today, my overly-attached 14-year-old cat wanted attention while I was in a heated Skype argument with my girlfriend. Worked up from the fight, I raised my voice and said, "Not now, go away!" He ran to his little bed, had a heart attack and died. I was a complete dick to my cat in his last moments. FML

Today, despite me not liking cats, which my wife knew, she got a cat anyway. Her cat went for a walk outside and was hit by a car. I rushed outside to help the cat but found she was already dead, and the culprit had driven away. When my wife found out that her cat was dead, she thought I'd killed her. FML

Today, my cat was incessantly meowing trying to get me to wake up and feed him. Because it was 6 a.m., and I'd hardly slept at all last night, my brain decided that the best solution to get him to shut up would be to hug him. The result was a normally docile and lazy cat giving me a nasty scratch next to my left eye. FML

Today, I was woken up by my cat, who normally doesn't bother me in the morning, meowing desperately and trying to get me to wake up. Fearing that something was very wrong, I jumped out of bed. He gestured for me to follow him, so I did. I followed him all the way to the kitchen, where he proceeded to puke. FML

I find it incredibly sad that so many people would click on "You Deserved It" and are blaming the OP. Get a life you morons. Its not like she knew the cat would die. I bet anyone who has had a pet has pushed it away at one point or another because they were busy or didnt feel like petting them. This just shows the intelligence of most of the readers of FML. Atleast over at MLIA people are civil to each other. To the OP I'm very sorry to read that and I hope your doing ok.

First of all for everyone who is saying that when cats don't feel good they keep to them selves. That isn't necessarily true... Every cat is different and cats meows are different too. The cat was trying to get the owners attention and didn't. So she is more at fault

aww, that happened to me and my dog once. He started acting all weird and I ignored him, it turned out he had gotten into some antifreeze. I am so sorry, i know I still feel bad about not treating him nicer right before he died.
