Once again, a pet comes before a human. OP, clearly your parents prefer the dog to you so as soon as you are old enough, RUN out of there. Someone else previously posted a FML about their parents blowing the OP's college savings on an operation for a pet. Uh, not in my house. Let's see, my kid's future or a mangy old pet who will die anyway? I pick my kid. Your parents are obviously not going to choose you; this is a precursor of things to come.
