Today, I got dumped because a guy sat next to me at a party and I didn't get up to change seats. Apparently, it means I subconsciously like the guy who sat down. FML

I guess It's better it ended. Your boyfriend sounds way too jealous. That can lead to controlling behavior, It's best to get out before you're too deep in.

When people get jealous over stupid situations, it really shows their immaturity. Sorry OP.

He had some serious insecurity issues OP , you are definitely better off without him.

Sounds like you could do a lot better anyway! Good riddance.

My dad is like this. He flipped out at my mom because a man came up to him and congratulated him on having a beautuful wife. I'm pretty this boy that dumped you is dealing with some mental issues.

Now that you know your ex-boyfriend is a jealous drama queen, not worth keeping, chat up the guy next to you. Maybe you two will hit it off.

Maybe you should of been with your man and not sitting by yourself to make him feel like your interested in him still I'm just saying what you did is not wrong but if he was drinking and glanced at you sitting with another man his head could be telling him stupid things any ways I hope everything works out a lot of people struggle with there insecurities and a good way to fix it is to reassure your like and or love records that person and if drinking is involved maybe stay by him or avoid the whole situation I hope everything works out with him or without good luck

Relationships are base on trust, if the guy she dated can't even let her be near another person, then taht guy as issues that OP can't solve and definetively needs profesional help!

what? if he's drinking and being stupid that's on him. she doesn't need to validate what she's doing just so he doesn't freak out. your logic sucks

I would think that OP being his girlfriend would be enough to make him feel like she is interested in him. But, what do I know.

That is one of the dumbest things I have read on here. Probably because it reads as though you are completely serious. God help any woman silly enough to date you.

So she is supposed to cling to him all night?

Maybe you need to learn how to spell and formulate a coherent sentence, jrock. Couples do not cling to each other at parties. Women talk with their friends, men talk with theirs, and sometimes men and women who aren't dating talk to each other in a friendly way. Someone sat down next to OP. Maybe she was just enjoying the scene and didn't want to talk to the guy. Maybe he didn't want to talk to anyone but just wanted to sit and relax. OP's ex sounds like an insecure, controlling jerk who has the potential to become abusive. She's lucky he dumped her before his jealousy got out of hand.
