Today, I discovered that my name literally means "burden". This wouldn't be so bad if both my mother and father knew this when they named me. FML

Fuhohohoho...and I thought Folly's name was cruel... I cannot see any reason why anyone could deserve this.

Prove em wrong kiddo... prove em wrong. ;-)

Buddha named his son the same name. IT was because he had to stay and take care of his son when he already was hearing the call of religion

don't worry OP, mine means "she who inflames men with love." it's kinda embarrassing when someone asks me what my name means...

at least your name doesn't mean "bundle of sticks"

My names means Ireland, my brother's name means Scotland, and my mom's means Germany :|

wow. why did your parents keep you then if you were going to be a burden? *NO OFFENSE TO YOU. i'm not saying anything about you- i'm questiong your parents. they're idiots. they could've given you to a family that actually wanted children. -.- i hope things are ok at home at least. :/

In their defense, wouldn't you be in a better position that they didn't know what your name meant. If they knew it meant "burden" and named you as so, I don't see how it'd be better.
