Today, I begged a coworker to let me borrow her lighter for my smoke break, since I'd lost mine. She was reluctant because of my track record of losing the darn things. After my break I stopped to use the restroom really quick, and promptly dropped the lighter into the toilet. FML

Most lighters still work after they get wet. But assuming it's a public toilet you're better off buying a new lighter.

Mm, no one deserves this. One day I had to change the toilet paper in my bathroom, and before I went upstairs, my mother told me not to drop the toilet paper in the toilet. That's exactly what I did as soon as I tried to change the toilet paper. FYL, OP. Also, the smoking is not the issue here. Honestly.

Just replace the lighter, and try to be less scatterbrained. I keep several lighters in different places, just in case I lose one or forget one. One on my apartment balcony, one in my purse, one in my jacket pocket, one in my desk at work, etc.
