Today, at school, I was crying because someone I knew had died. My teacher pulled me aside and said, "I understand you're socially awkward, but don't worry it gets better." FML

Today, my English teacher asked me why I didn't have my project completed. Thinking quick on my feet, I told her it was because my grandmother had just passed away. Apparently they go to the same country club and have known each other for years. My teacher started crying and ran out of the room. FML

A teacher's burden

Today, a parent came into my class and told one of my 6 year-old students that their grandma died. Then the parent left. The kid started crying from the news, which then got all the other students crying. I spent the rest of the day comforting a class of kids crying over someone else's grandma. FML

Today, I caught two kids passing notes to each other in my class, so I told them to see me afterwards. When one of the kids eventually came up, I noticed he was crying. He looked up at me and sobbed out, "I was trying to make my first friend!" FML

Today, I was at a school rally I was talking to my friends when I noticed the entire gym had gotten quiet. Not knowing why I thought it would be funny to yell out "it's too quiet!" apparently it was a moment of silence for a teacher that had recently died. FML

Today, my youth pastor died and I was crying. My boss told me to dry my tears, because it was affecting my coworkers. Sorry I'm human and cry when someone I know dies. FML

Today, I was doing my job and trying to teach a lazy bunch of 16-year-olds. A girl entered the room just 15 minutes before class ended, so I snapped, "Someone had better have died for you to be this late!" She immediately burst into tears. Turns out, someone had. FML

Today, I saw my teacher using her phone in the middle of class, so to joke around with her, seeing as we're on pretty good terms, I said: "Using your phone in class? For shame." She looks me in the eyes and says, "Would it be ok if I told you I'm arranging my father's funeral?" FML

Today, a coworker at school yelled at one of our students to be quiet. The kid got pretty upset, so I went to comfort him. He held my hand for the rest of the class, telling me in vivid detail how he was going to kill my coworker. Now I'm afraid to look at him. FML

Hang onto the memories of the person you lost and you will one day look back and laugh. As in the book The Little Prince they have given you a million stars worth of memories. Reflect upon the spirit and wisdom they brought to their life and apply it to yours and they will always be with you. We lost both my husbands parents with In 48 hours of each other a couple of years ago, one expected one not so much, its still hard but we tell stories and laugh about their antics and we reflect upon their wisdom using it to help us in the problems we face. It's ok to cry as much as you want just speak up when somebody misunderstands your tears like your teacher.

Thank you for those that support my comment. I know there are no words to say when someone is grieving, but sometimes it does help to know their is light at the end of the tunnel. For every valley there is a mountain.

Most kids cant relax and be themselves while at school....and appear socially awkward. Mainly due to judgmental assholes and cliques. When at home or close friends, they unwind and are usually great people to be around.
