Today, at a staff meeting, our boss sighed and asked why I'm always in the meetings instead of my co-worker. I reminded him that it's because I'm the department supervisor, not my co-worker. He wouldn't believe me until he saw it for himself in our personnel files. FML

I'm sorry, OP, but there's no winning in this situation. Because of my job I've been studying a lot of companies and their employees... If your boss believes that your co-worker is supervisor, this belief will become reality. It matters why he had this belief only so you know how to avoid it in the future: your co-worker used social-engineering to appear to be supervisor, or your co-worker is confident and people think he's a boss because of his confidence, or your boss likes your co-worker very much and a supervising position would bring them closer. There, now you have it. Use it wisely.

watch the people that are in charge and you'll realise that the stupid people in this world are in the highest position.
