Today, as a veteran blood donor, I made a friend who was donating for the first time- I told her not to be scared and that I've been doing it for six years and that it was a great way to help people. While at the snack area afterwards, I passed out, started convulsing and went into shock. FML

YDI for donating blood! The world is over populated, let the weed be separated from the corn (or however that saying goes in English)!!

Haha that happened to me lol... except I didn't convulse lol just went into shock.. Then she passed out too

Tehalon, that's such a jerk statement. I'll bet you'd change your mind if you needed the blood.

No not really, i didnt even get stitches on my head when my head got bashed open with a pipe, do got a massive ugly scar now tho.. I'll accept my death when the reaper comes.

Tehalon is a dick, cool but to the OP at least the friend still gave blood yes? So you did your work

That's interesting. Usually they have someone to help walk you over and sit you down while they get you snacks, at least in my experience, since it sounds like you were standing up trying to get yourself some food.

There's a small chance that something like that can happen whenever you give blood, but it's a very, very small chance (something like 1/1000 cases). They do warn you about it before you donate (or at least they warned me), but it's generally nothing to worry about. Sucks that it happened to you, though. ):

well im srry that happened op ive been giving blood for close to 17 yrs and ive nvr had that problem

tehelon...what if it's a family member who got in a car accident from a drunk driver hitting them? it's not their fault at all that they got it does that still make them "weak"?or as you say, a weed honestly, (and i'm sorry if this is too mean...i'm just stating my feelings) i hope you need a blood donation one day.in fact, i hope you are forced to have someone else's blood in you to save your life. ..then you can be a member of those "weak" people.then we will see if you still call them weak

Don't wish I'll of other people regardless what!! It wouldn't be nice if someone said that to you, right?
