Today, I was dating a guy for 5 years, and I thought he was my soulmate. Until he stole more than 60K from me and he's 400k in debt. He has a serious gambling addiction and his probably never going to stop. FML

I feel badly for you. I cannot stress this enough: gambling is an almost hopeless addiction. There is plenty of legitimate research you can easily find online. But you need to believe what all the research says: the chances of him kicking this addiction for any real length of times are very, very low. Please don't throw your life away thinking that he can just go to therapy and make an effort and then he'll be cured; if you do decide to stick with him, do so with your eyes wide open, realizing that it's likely he'll steal money from you periodically, you'll never be able to save money, etc. I'm not trying to be mean, I just happen to know something about gambling addiction.

if he stole $60K from you, that is grand theft larceny.

He'll stop. The people he owes 400k to will see to that. It won't be a nice rehabilitation, though.
