Today, while walking to work with my best friend, he broke down in tears. I asked what was wrong, and he told me his mom passed away last night. All I could think to do was give him a hug and say I was sorry. Then some assclown walking past said "GAAAYYY!" and walked away laughing hysterically. FML

This is what's wrong in our culture. No one, especially men, can show emotion and affection anymore without being labeled as "homosexual" or "pervert" or "pedophile". OP, ignore it. You were being a good friend and I'm sure your friend appreciated it.

You were just trying to be a good friend. People can be so immature...

Should have followed him, raped him, then yell out GAAAYYY! and walk away like a boss.

OP, my hand slipped, I promise you. I'm not one of these pathetic trolls that pressed YDI.

Dicks are everywhere OP don't pay attention to them

My best friend did the same thing Monday when I figured out my great grandma died. A group of my other "friends" called me gay afterwards. I decided to teach them a lesson so I scared all of them shitless.

Okay, I want to know why 967 people say that this poor guy deserved this... Our society is ****** up. If you're a guy who shows affection or any emotion, you're GAY!

Sorry to hear that OP. It's become pretty common, people don't see a dividing line between internet behavior and actual behavior. People have gotten used to not having repercussions for actions online that have any real weight and carried that behavior to real life.

in the sense of gay my brother says the same thing he's not being called gay its that he was doing something gay

The exact same thing happened to me at school when my mom died when I was 12. Needless to say, I put an older kid in the hospital
