Today, after nearly three years of no contact whatsoever, I received a Facebook notification from my father. Eager to see what he said, I pulled it up only to see a game request. He had run out of lives on Candy Crush. FML

Sorry to hear that OP. My best friemd is in tje same kinda situation and I hate seeing her continuously getting her hopes up only to get hurt and disappointed. Youre better than him and deserve better. Dont let him do that shit to you. Chin up OP! Things will get better. xoxo

I understand the saying "blood is thicker than water" but after 4 yrs of zero contact with my own father, I've learned that the family you make (and not born into) is your real family. And before I get hate on this, I gave up on my having a relationship with my father years ago, but I wanted my sons to know him. My sons no longer ask why he doesn't want to see them. No one from my fathers side calls either ( I remarried to a wonderful Hispanic man and even he wonders if he is the reason behind "dad" actions). So sorry to hear about that OP
