That sucks but that doesn't mean you were doing it well. If you don't know your way around a kitchen maybe working in a soup kitchen isn't for you. There are a lot of variables here and not much info. Lots of things can go wrong.

Who said anything about a kitchen? There are many different places you can work in that are not kitchens.
