Today, my boyfriend gave me the painting he had been working on. It was a heart with wings, my name, and the date we started dating. We have been dating for almost a year and a half. He misspelled my name. FML

Is it something overly complicated? Or something that is more commonly spelled a different way?

Atleast he remember the day you started dating! ;)

I hope he painted it in acrylic so he can repaint over it.

At least he remembered your anniversary and made you something sweet! Jeez, give the guy a break. At least he didn't have his ex's name on it. Maybe you have a hard to spell name. Or your name is like mine and there are endless spellings of it, he just had a brain fart and forgot which one is right. I have friends who spell my name wrong when they've known me for years and they can see my name right next to the FB message.

Hunny, I have been with my husband for over 9 years, and yet he still writes my nickname on legal or important paperwork, doesn't know my b-day 100% and asks for the kids b-days if it is important to get them right. It's not his ability to store information, it's the love that counts. The former is what you look for in a new PC

You don't have to be smart to care for someone. I'd take someone who's not the brightest but cares about me enough to go out of her way for me over someone extremely intelligent and successful who couldn't bother... Funny nonetheless though.

Oh my god be thankful. It was a mistake so what? We aren't all lerfect

That last bit was pretty funny!

Does it say she isn't thankful? You can be thankful for the gift and still slightly annoyed about the misspelling.

If you think that's bad my own grandma can't spell my name right. It's not a hard name at all. She has had 24 years to learn how too.

Maybe you could pass it off as a nickname? :) I have a cousin in America who is still convinced my name is Sinbad. Not even close like :P
