Today, my mother told me I must break up with my gorgeous, brilliant, talented, kind, respectful boyfriend of 2 weeks. Why? One of his closest friends died, and he's struggling with his spiritual identity. Apparently, by being with him, I'm walking on 'unholy ground.' FML

I later found out that “mom” was code word for his other girlfriend, who he’s been seeing for a year. FML

Why does your mom know this level of detail anyway? Either tell her he figured it out, or tell her you’re helping him like other people suggested, and stop telling her details like that. I get being open with your mom, but what he’s going through or struggling with personally is none of her business.
