Scratch that itch

Today, I bought a $50 Nintendo eShop card to redeem on my Nintendo Switch. As I was scratching the grey area, I scratched too hard, making it hard to see what it was. I tried randomly guessing and asking for help. Neither helped. Guess who didn't get $50 back. FML

What's the point of buying a card for yourself? Just spend cash on your switch as you have it

You do realize some people don't own credit/debit cards, and even if they did, OP may have received special cash at Christmas and used it on this instead of tying his CC to his Nintendo account. People are also sometimes very careful with their money, and separate bills/necessities with leisure, keeping away from unnecessary card use. And too, there's some states that still accept a stores Gift Card to purchase store currency for systems. ..just my two cents though.

Mario? Zelda? Rick Astley? This are my guesses. If any are correct, please send me a $50 Nintendo card so you can be out another $50. Wait...can I change my answers?

OP, contact Nintendo. They may ask you send in your receipt and gift card and you may be given the correct equivalent. Doesn't hurt to try, it'll just take a few weeks to confirm and stop the actual number on the card from being used. Good luck!

Should’ve used a coin .. coins never betray.
