If they’re really worth it you can make it work. Save up and find time to meet in person to make sure the chemistry and decency are there before goin too far because they may not be all you think they are. But if it’s really supposed to work, it will. Just make sure your eyes are wide open and that he or she is who he or she appears to be.

Hey, I've accepted the same thing a few weeks back. He lives over 10.000 miles away from me. I'll get to see him in five more months and can't wait. Hope everything works out for the two of you!

There’s nothing wrong with long distance. I’m dating someone who lives 400 miles away and she’s still amazing. Distance can be overcome if you really want to make it work.
