Today, after having spent 2 weeks planning my husband's surprise birthday party with his friends and family, we get in the car on the way to "dinner" and he says, "I really hope it's just the two of us tonight." FML

Well you know your husband best. If he’s usually a homebody and introverted and chilled this is on you. If he’s always been a party goer and socialiser, I can see the “F**K!” moment but he should’ve told you ahead of the date that he wanted something low key.

Sooooo how did it go? Good? Bad? Also is this in USA? Odd you could have a party during pandemic.

Surprise parties are bullshit. They make people believe conspiracy theories. If everyone around you could make secret plans to celebrate your birthday, who knows what kind of plans a secretive group can make?

I hope you at least told him then to prepare him for what was in store. 😧

That's a pretty strange thing to say when headed out to dinner. Have you done this before? Have you ambushed him so many times that he has started to find it a reasonable possibility? It might be time to cut back on the surprises.

Maybe he just wants sex for his birthday. :D
