Today, after getting my wisdom teeth pulled, I woke up from a much needed nap realizing I should take my pain medication. My mother then told me she had thrown them out so I wouldn't get addicted and become a drug dealer. FML

So she'd rather make you go through the pain.. Also, can't get addicted to pain meds if you're actually in pain. She's either stupid or doesn't know any better

Where on Earth did you hear that? Have you never heard of the addiction problems had by people prescribed heavy-duty pain relief, especially those on long-term pain management programs? Addiction happes whether you're in pain or not.

Same thing happened to a guy on our football team. He broke two ribs in the first game of the season and his mom only let him take his pain meds for a week.
