Today, it's a long weekend and our restaurant is severely understaffed, with a record number of customers and 6 staff doing the work of the 10 who would usually be there. Other restaurants would have 14 staff on with those numbers. There is no chance in hell that will be reflected in our wages, however. FML

Today, at my prestigious sous chef job, I was preparing to plate up expensive entrees for a function of 150 people. After arriving to work 2 hours early to finalize finishing touches, they call the restaurant 5 minutes before their booking stating, 'We can't be bothered anymore, sorry.' FML

Joys of working for asians. Im in the same boat, with weeks of no time off, an abusive owner, with below nat. min. hourly wages and money taken off you if any of the overworked staff make a mistake that costs. Speak up, you will be worked like a dog. Unfortunately mine consistently falls on deaf ears so im jumping ship.
