Today, I went for a job interview. I'd resigned at my current job and applied for somewhere closer to home. They hired me on the spot, and as I was leaving, I saw my abusive ex-boyfriend working in the store. So… now I'm working alongside my ex who abused me for two years. Time to apply elsewhere. FML

A good question to ask your future new employer would be "Does [ex-boyfriend] work for your company?"

Why would you quit your job without having another one already lined up? Also it depends on where you apply. If you were working at an office building, it be understandable. But if you're applying to a retail job or something like that, you should have been able to visit the place on different days. And probably would have run into them.
