Be thankful and don't be all pissy. Guys can turn down sex too. How do you think we feel when all we want is sex and girls turn us down? And we didn't even get gifts so be thankful and have sex another time

If I understand OP she is grateful she just wishes that OP didn't get on a out how great the gift is, to some that is like patting yourself on the back. It is great to be proud of a gift but there is a limit.

Did you think to look INSIDE the purse? Perhaps he was talking about it so much is because he wants you to examine it. A common engagement ploy is to give a gift which has a ring attached to/inside it. He may have been trying to propose and you ruined it by just wanting birthday sex.
