Today, I went to throw out the garbage outside. I noticed at the bottom of my can was a lot of rice. I was angry at my brother for making a mess. As I went to clean it up, the rice moved. It wasn't rice, it was maggots. FML

Today, I came home to find that maggots had taken over my garbage can this weekend. We weren't home to catch it, and I didn't use the garbage this morning. On top of that, I hadn't had my caffeine for the day because I ran out and forgot. FML

Today, my mother decided to cook dinner for us and used rice that she had in her cupboard. While helping out, I stirred the dish and noticed black flecks. Turns out they were rice weevils. She tried to convince me it was "burnt garlic" and served it to the rest of the family. FML

Dirty rice

Today, my 8-year-old son decided to make some rice for lunch. When we had it, I noticed a horrid gritty taste. It turns out, he puts dirt in the rice to make "Dirty Rice". FML

Today, I went to make my morning coffee as usual. When I opened the container for the coffee grounds, I saw it bubbling. Perplexed, I looked closer. This is how I discovered that maggots can actually bubble what they ingest. FML

My dad once lit fire to a trashcan when he saw maggots inside. The trashcan melted - Clearly he's not a big fan of bugs.

Pour a 1:4 mix of bleach and water in there. I guess you could then pour it down the disposal in your sink (though that'd be gross).

Ugh. One of the guys I lived with last year was ******* terrible for that. He once left a pan of food on the side for about a week, and when I eventually gave up on telling him to sort it out and went to clean it up myself, I found loads of maggots underneath (it was this weird veg/lentil mash shit he always used to make). A fly must have burrowed through the food to start its filthy little nest. I gag whenever I think about it.
