Eat the rich

Today, at work, I found out that they are taking all bonus pay away, but giving us an extra $1 an hour due to Covid-19. Last week, they laid off half my department. Those people laid off are making more money on unemployment than I am now. FML

Definitely sucks but at least you’ll have a job when this is all over. Unemployment has only been boosted temporarily and those people will be facing a very tough job search.

Well, Jessica, the answer is obvious. You need to get your ass fired and start sucking at the government teat! Get me some cake on your way out, Jessica. Thanks -- you're a peach!

they realize they are breaking federal law right

How so, don’t get me wrong I think it’s despicable but how is it illegal?

There’s nothing illegal about not getting a bonus.

Same boat. My job took BACK the yearly raise they give to everyone — didn’t know they could do that — and any raises given every so often have been halted. I could take the temporary layoff they are offering and get more money than I’m making at my job but unemployment sounds like a bitch to deal with right now.

But the ceos are just fine. Don’t be upset with the people laid off be mad about the way your job is treating you. The fact that the people who were laid off are “making more money” means nothing in the long run. They were screwed over just like you. Unemployment runs out. Maybe you should think about what’s wrong with the system & not be mad at others who are being screwed over too.

The upside is your resume won't have "unemployed from this date to that date"...
