Today, it became apparent that telling your crush you like them isn't worth a response. I mean after all it's not like I'm sitting here not thinking about them and hoping for something to happen. No no, a simple "No thanks" is too much hard work for some. FML

You do not own or have any special rights just because you have a crush on someone. If they do not respond to your attention or what you tell them it means they are not interested in you. Get over it. One of the hardest things to accept is that not everyone will like you or be interested in you. Do not waste time on people who show no interest in you. The best you can do is to be honest about who you are - If a person likes you for who you are then something good will come from that. Look for someone who returns your interest in them, not just a pretty face...

it's common decency to respond to people it's not about being owed anything it's about being a decent human being if you ask someone how their day was you're not owed a response but you still expect the person to be decent enough to respond sounds to me like they had a crush on a pos

From a girl's perspective, often silence is the best choice. Responding sometimes makes them think that they have 'a foot in the door', so to speak, and leads to further messages often with increasing rudeness and name calling. And honestly from this post, it seems like OP definitely would fall into that camp. Yes, a response would be polite. However, from what I've seen of a lot of peoples DMs, it's not always the safest.

Sadly rejected is what happens when you put yourself out there. Take it without sulking or having any negative feelings, it may give you a chance down the road if you ever go back and give it a second try.
