You OK, hun?
Today, I had a seizure in class. Being an epileptic, I had warned my professor of the possibility that I could have one in class. She was understanding and seemed very concerned about my issue at the time. After I had the seizure, however, she asked me if I had ever tried exorcism. FML

Did you ask if she'd ever tried science?

I tried Science once. Once. It tasted like bitter tears and soul-crushing sorrow. Try History instead. I've heard it tastes of forgotten dreams and endless hopes.

I have epilepsy too! I feel for you, OP. I had my first grand mal seizure when I was at work and despite the many witnesses, the hospital still insisted I fainted. My mom and sister believed that even after my second seizure and diagnosis. Even after my neurologist figured out my "spells" I'd been having as long as I can remember were petite mal seizures, they didn't want to believe it. I was "just being a drama queen." I'm not sure what finally convinced them but now they've turned their beliefs onto my aunt. She's known for her attention seeking but given my epilepsy is hereditary it is highly plausible she is telling the truth. tl;dr epilepsy is a big enough pain in the ass without people taking it seriously

Epilepsy sucks. I have much milder forms of seizures and my mother refused meds so my whole life has been tricky but it wasn't too bad as it wasn't a big deal, just wait and move on. You still have them, right?

I've got it under control now with medication. I dealt with the minor seizures for so long not knowing what they were I probably could have continued without if it never went beyond that. The grand mal's changed that for me and once I started the meds I started really enjoying not having any kind of seizure. It made a huge difference in my life. The seizures always gave me migraines so I'm very glad to be rid of them. Unless I miss my medication anyways.

Yeah medication has way too many side effects. That's why my mom refused to give me them I guess

It really depends on which one and not everyone experiences side effects. I take lamictal and the first couple of weeks my moods and energy were all over the place but after my body adjusted, the only effect it has on me is preventing seizures. I hate taking pills and I always have but these have seriously improved my life.

More accurately, why have we had to endure these dull comments in your absence?

What in the hell could this person be a professor of?!? Sorry you have to put up with that kind of idiot teaching you, OP.

I suppose it's possible she could have been joking? When bad things like this happen, sometimes people just don't know what to say and say the wrong thing...

ONCE grades are submitted, since it is so close to semester's end, kindly inform your teacher she is a stupid **** and give her a nasty, nasty review and submit a formal complaint against her!!!!

Sometimes people can't handle health problems and don't know what to say, so they say the first thing that pops into their heads and hope it helps. Usually it doesn't. I've had people tell me the paleo diet will heal my lifelong bone disease. I feel for you OP. I probably would have said that I had tried it but it didn't help.

you should ask her if she has a ******* brain.
