Today, the cat I rescued out of the rain unexpectedly gave birth under my couch. Realistically, I know there’s no way to keep six cats but every time I think about separating the babies from their mom and litter-mates, I sob uncontrollably to the point of hyperventilating. FML

That's because they're way too young to be separated. Wait two months before even thinking about giving away the kittens. You'll feel better and they will too.

Also, it makes it easier if you adopt them out in pairs , as it helps them acclimate to the new surroundings with the new owner easier. We adopted two black cats that were the last of their litter and they adjusted relatively quick, but considering the fact that your cat that you rescued just had kittens it’s going to be a while but downside if you keep all of them and get a kennel license is the amount of neutering cost you’re going to get because you definitely don’t want them breeding with each other They get expensive to take care of. I have five cats and holy crap. They consume a lot of money. I have two that do have some medical issues and all five of my cats are rescue cats. One of them was right off the street and was a mama that we captured and her kittens were rescued by somebody else after we rescued the mama. The fact that you rescued her, probably meant that her kittens have a fighting chance to survive where is the one that we rescued if we hadn’t posted about on next-door her kittens likely would’ve passed away and so she would have to because she was extremely emaciated and they can’t protect their kittens when they’re exposed to the elements and everything out there so feel good about that but eventually the cats will want to wander once they get old enough and it makes it easier to get them adopted out because they’re gonna try to make their own way. It’s just a natural thing with animals. Just take care of them the best you can.
