Today, I was cuddling with the girl I've been seeing for the past few months. She was saying how much she liked me and how much I meant to her. Reciprocating those feelings, I asked her to be my girlfriend. It was a HARD no for her. Then she drove me an hour and a half home. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I drove 4 hours to see my girlfriend of a year, as she had asked me to stay with her for a few days. When I arrived she told me she wanted to be friends as she liked someone else, but wanted me to stay the few days so we could work on being friends. FML
Next time, text me instead
Today, I drove 120 miles to spend a few days with my girlfriend. Less than 12 hours into my stay, she dumped me. FML
Today, after my girlfriend telling me for years that she would marry me in a heartbeat, I finally proposed. She said no. FML
Today, I was on a date with a girl I've had feelings for since I was 14 (I'm 22). I took her out to dinner, then to a movie that we both liked and had a few drinks afterwards. I thought it was going really well until I was driving her home and she asked to be dropped off at her boyfriend's house. FML
Today, I told my long-distance girlfriend that I just could not handle the distance and we should just be friends. To which she responded, "What? You thought we were going out? Lol". FML
Today, when I proposed to my girlfriend of 8 years, she said no because she thought we were moving too fast. FML
Eternity
Today, I took my girlfriend to eat out at a restaurant. We chatted for an hour, and it all seemed to be going well, until she told me that she wanted to break up. Waiting for the bill and driving her home was the most painful time of my life. FML
Wrong end of the stick
Today, I went to my girlfriend's house to break up with her. It was a hard decision and both of us became quite emotionally overwhelmed at the time. We began to hug as a final goodbye, then her mum burst in the room and yelled, "HE FINALLY PROPOSED!" FML
Today, I called in to my girlfriend's favorite radio station to propose. After spending what seemed like an eternity telling her how much I love her and I want to spend the rest of my life with her, she took a deep breath, said, "How about no?" and hung up. FML
Today, the girl I'd been seeing for a few weeks lost her mind and yanked my car's e-brake while we were on the highway. Why? Because I said I wasn't really interested in having kids. Guess I'll cross that relationship off as a "hell no". FML

It seems to me that she is either playing hard to get (which would be a dumb move on her part), or she is horrible when it comes to using the correct words to convey her feelings and thoughts. Either way, props to you, OP, for your courage and even though it did not work out in your favour, at least you know to stop wasting your time on her (in a potential partner kind of way).

I've given up on that question. In the 2010s so many ladies react poorly to that question. We've been hanging out several days a week, texting every day, sleeping together, but I ask that question and it's a "no". Sometimes it's the opposite though and they get super excited as if I just proposed.

Yea, I'm scared to do that too for the same reason.

So? There still have to be feelings involved. You can hang around, text and sleep with someone without having deeper feelings. Is this so hard to imagine? Do you have feelings for everybody you hang out with?

All the best to you! I’m sure you will eventually meet someone who is receptive to your feelings.. in the mean time.. fyl..

She drove you home? You didn’t drive yourself there, or you couldn’t? Wonder if that has something to do with it. I wouldn’t want to date someone who wasn’t able to get himself around. Just sayin’

right? na. I'm not making a 3 hour round trip every time I want to see my man. 🤷♀️

That’s...Ridiculous..Just because they’re men doesn’t mean they should do everything like pay for the meal or be the ride. Women can do that stuff too. If you really loved him you would drive that far for him.

Guess she just wanted a cuddle buddy? 🤷🏼♀️

How can you be "seeing" someone for a few months and they are not your girlfriend? Was it just a friends with benefits thing?

There’s a stage of dating before you are exclusive to each other. Seeing someone is going on dates and testing the waters, then if all goes well you make it official and agree to be a couple (bf/gf), and not see other people.

Easy, you two go out but never discuss being boyfriend/girlfriend. Until you discuss it it isn't so.
