Welcoming
Today, I was having lunch with my fiancé's family. After he excused himself to use the bathroom, his grandmother glared at me, sneered, "I never liked you" and kept eating while the others smirked. When my fiancé returned, everyone pretended nothing had happened. FML

Tell your fiancee later, hopefully he'll understand.

Yikes. I think a talk with your fiance is in order. I doubt he'd think you're making that up, and he should really know if his family is unpleasant to you. Hopefully he'll explain to them that they should be civil to you. Maybe Grandma is going cuckoo though.

Well now you know how the old bat feels.

I find that the elderly are more honest since they have less time on the planet than younger folks.

The crucial point here, OP, is whether or not you told him what happened and whether he believed you. If you two are open and trust each other, you'll do well together even if his family suck.

Time for a chat with your Fiancée. Tell him what went down behind his back. And hopefully, he takes what you said as truth. Then the ball is in his court to confront his family. Good luck OP!

When your fiancé takes off again during another lunch. Say "I never liked you either."

They'll learn to like you...they have to

No they don't. They'll have to tolerate her, but they don't have to like her.

My mind got ahead of my fingers...again...

Yup, being honest and being rude are different. And elderlies should use the wisdom of how much longer they have lived and respect others, not be grumpy of how less time they have left.

you can be honest no matter how long you think you have left. being a **** is never acceptable, regardless of age...

Consider suicide. It may help

Uh oh. Time to find out if your husband is going to be your husband or his family's little boy. Tell him what happened. If he doesn't believe you or ignores it, it might be time to reconsider. If he's angry and calls his grandmother to tell her it's not acceptable, it's a keeper. Does he have your back? Time to find out BEFORE you walk down the aisle and end up stuck with a family that doesn't like you and a husband that takes their side. Hopefully he's pissed off at grandma and his relatives :)
