Volunteering gone too far
Today, I volunteered at a 50 km trail race for charity and was at the service of a walker. It was fun until after the walk was completed, when he made me take off his boots and socks, and massage his big, super stinky, sweaty bare feet. His putrid feet were inches from my face the entire time. FML

How did he "make you" do that? You're a volunteer. That means unpaid which also means you have no real obligation. Once you are confronted with even the slightest adversity, you say, "Nope" and walk away with no consequence.

sometimes in life we are granted the luxury of opening the door for an old lady … sorry this occurred

Were you aware that you could refuse, especially if it's a potential biohazard? You're a volunteer, not a PSW who's paid and provided supplies (such as gloves and medical masks) to do that kind of work.
