Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my doctor put me on a new medication that came with the warning to stay out of the sun. I live in the desert and my country is having the highest temperatures recorded ever in human history. Guess I should stock up on white, long sleeve shirts. FML.
Today, I got 2 creams for a skin condition. The one for my face says "Don't expose skin to sun after use of this product". The one for the rest of my body says "This product relies on exposure to the sun". In other words, I have to be outside as much as I can, naked and with a box on my head. FML
Today, I finally got prescribed something for my skin problems. The good news: It works really well. The bad news: When the doctor said one of the potential side effects was a "horrible rash," she really meant it when she said, "horrible." I swear to God, I was about to rip my chest open, due to it itching so hard. FML
Today, while filling out paperwork at the dermatologist's, it asked what color I would use to describe my skin tone. When the nurse saw that I chose fair, she mumbled, "Ghost is more like it." I have a severe sun allergy. FML
Today, I realized that the tingly feeling on my face when I put a new combination of acne wash, acne medication, and my usual moisturizer on was not, in fact, "it working." It was slowly peeling away the top layer of skin. I look and feel sunburned. I also still have acne and oily skin. FML
Today, I went to the store and bought some cream to help with a sunburn I'd gotten a few days ago. What's worse than having red, peeling, and painful skin? An allergic reaction on top of it. FML
Today, I found out that I am allergic to one of the preservatives that they put in aloe. I found this out after I put some on a severe sunburn I have. Not only am I sunburned, but now I am severely itchy as well. FML
Today, I was getting ready for a very unpleasant doctor's appointment. I got out of the shower and used a new body spray all over my torso and arms. Turns out I'm allergic to it and now my skin is on fire, so now I get to go to an already uncomfortable appointment even more uncomfortable than I'd planned. FML
Today, I used sunscreen on my face. Said sunscreen was expired and I had an allergic reaction. FML
Today, I'm so pale that I managed to get a sunburn while sitting in a bus. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?

I hate to break this to you but I think your doctor may have turned you into a vampire.

The medication just made you a vampire. I'm sorry OP, hope you don't have to take the medication for way too long. Edit: I see the person above me just beat me to it

I could only wish I had such a good excuse to not go outside.

Some people are more severely affected by medications. Go back and ask if there is an alternative.

You'd have no problem living here then, the dark winter clouds fill the sky every day.

Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat with a bill. Sun Care 101. Those should reduce your reaction and be enough for regular come-and-go events, but if you find it's still severe, go back to your doctor. But don't try to spend an hour or more outdoors if you can help it.

Try to cover as much as you can, and get another appointment with your doctor ASAP

I'm allergic to the sun. I feel your pain. It's not fun to live like this.

This happened to me when I was on Doxycycline. I couldn't even stand indirect light. Sitting in a car felt like my skin was on fire. I took it for one summer and I was miserable.
