Today, while working as a line cook, one of the servers sincerely asked me, "What sauce goes on a chicken bacon ranch sandwich?" I replied, a little incredulously I'll admit, "…Ranch." She then totally lost her cool and went full-blown adult temper tantrum because I was, "mean to her." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Customers from hell
Today, while at my job, a couple became angry with me because I charged them for an extra ranch they'd ordered, as I'm supposed to. When I explained how it says in the menu how any additional sauces are an extra charge, she said nastily, "That's okay, we'll just take it out of your tip". FML
How very dare you?
Today, while working, a woman complained that she didn't ask for sauce on her sandwich. After examining the sandwich, I realized it was just melted cheese. When I told her, she threw the sandwich at me. FML
Today, while waiting tables, I watched a woman pull the bacon off her roast beef melt and eat it. She then called me over and spent several minutes complaining about the our chefs' inadequacy because they didn't put bacon on her sandwich. FML
Sorry, I didn't mean…
Today, I asked a girl at the restaurant I work at if she'd had enough to eat. When she said yes, I said, "Are you sure?" I didn't realize how insulting it sounded until her equally overweight mom was up in my face, demanding to see my manager. FML
Weird questions
Today, a customer asked me if we serve spaghetti. She then asked for a manager because I was giving her a weird look, laughing softly when telling her yes, and apparently making her feel stupid. My manager wrote me up. I work at the Old Spaghetti Factory. FML
Today, a woman threw a sandwich at me, told me to go back to "fucktard island" and demanded to see my manager. All because the mayonnaise sandwich she ordered, shockingly enough, had mayonnaise in it. FML
Today, whilst working my waitressing job, I had a patron lose his rag at me because there was too much "green stuff" in his salad. What did he expect? Chicken? FML
Karen strikes again
Today, I was reduced to tears and called a "useless fat bitch" by a customer I was serving. She didn’t realize that the steak fajitas she’d ordered had steak in them. She said she was a vegetarian. She failed to mention it, but apparently it was "my fault" because I “should have known." FML
Having a normal one
Today, at work, a woman came up to the counter and asked if we made sweet and sour chicken. Before I could answer, she gave me a really long recipe and said, "I expect to see this on the menu next time I come in, or I will complain to the manager about your lousy work ethic." I work at Starbucks. FML
Today, a lady cussed me out for not bringing her salad and pizza to her table. She then wanted her money back. I work at a buffet; a self-serve buffet. FML

Normally it's the guests that ask stupid questions like that. I'm impressed. I'd probably reply the same way you did.

I don't think calling ranch a sauce rather than a dressing changes what they meant when they said it. And when someone asks what "sauce" (not "sauces") goes on a certain type of sandwich, I think it's pretty obvious that it's the one that's in the sandwich's name.

Restaurant's are on business you can't be a sensitive brat in. The other staff will eat you alive, and customers will hate you.

You deserve it. Why? Because guess what? Sandwiches often times have multiple ingrediants. Furthermore, ranch is more accurately a "Dressing", not a "sauce".

ranch is in the name. it's like asking what soda is used in a root beer float

Just say, "it's ok you window licking, snowflake, we all still love you". She will calm right down ?

Your response would have been better than how I would have responded ("Uh... Ranch"). Chances are she lost it due to the embarrassment of asking such an obvious question.

She might have gotten confused and thought it was a bacon sandwich from the Chicken Ranch. And you can just imagine the kind of "sauces" they used on the Chicken Ranch -- whoa, Nellie!!!

Sigh, my biggest peeve from the servers is when things would be rung in wrong/not specified then THEY'D bring it back to the kitchen >.>
