Today, while studying liver pathology and highlighting important lines in my textbook, I realized that I could count the number of words I hadn't highlighted on one hand, over the last six pages. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I checked over my notes from yesterday's midterm review so I could study for the test on Monday. It seems I was so exhausted, I'd done nothing but scribble unintelligibly all over the first page. FML
Classic rookie mistake
Today, I was taking a test and thought I was doing great until I realized I was writing all my answers on the question paper, not the answer sheet. By the time I noticed, there were only five minutes left. FML
Who else can relate?
Today, my OCD reached a new high when I used a correction pen to white-out an eyelash which was photocopied onto every single page of my reading material. I did it because the eyelash was too distracting and I couldn't finish reading the article without the urge to rip it into shreds. FML
Today, I just studied for 13.5 hours completely outlining a book for history. Thirty minutes before the test, I realized I had been reading the wrong book. FML
Today, I realized how much I'm on the computer. I tried to "CTRL+Z" on something I wrote down on my paper. FML
Today, I was reviewing for a major nursing school exam I have this week. I panicked because none of the material seemed familiar, and figured that I must've missed something during class and now had to catch up. After 4 hours, I finally realized that I'd been studying from the wrong textbook. FML
Shorty-Greasy Spot-Spot
Today, while studying with the girl I like, I rested my face on my book, pretending to be frustrated. When I lifted my head, I realized I'd left a greasy spot on the page from my nose. She noticed. FML
Today, I submitted my 5000 word assignment. When I got home, my mother asked if I'd checked it through one more time like she always warned me to do. I hadn't, therefore hadn't noticed the paragraph on page 11 that she'd written, telling me to pay attention to the small details. FML
Today, while correcting essays, I spilled ketchup on a student's paper. I managed to successfully turn it into a happy smiley face but when proudly looking at the result, noticed it was right next to the big "F" that I had graded it. FML
Today, I got back my math test. Instead of taking the time to mark the mistakes, my professor just circled the bottom half of the page and wrote "OMG." FML

Just go on and highlight the book at this point. It's all kind of important.

When I was in medical school I stopped highlighting for that reason. Keep up the hard work! It'll pay off!

There's always not enough, or too much highlighted! Try writing out your own notes instead. When having to write something, it makes you think whether it's actually important or not. It also helps you learn the information better.

I'm in law school and that happens to me more times than I'd really like to admit. But at least you now know you have an excellent book!

That's not only med school, dude, sorry. That's any school where you're doing reading.

Yes, but med school has arguably the most work load of any major.

I disagree. Try veterinary school. A LOT harder than just male vs female.

you should really use a bic 4 color pen. And underline different "sets" of thoughts into different colors. That way you can tell the difference between each set of lines, and it won't look like a big yellow blob. (and the were there's a will, there's an a stuff, says we basically ignore highlighting anyway.)

Sadly, in med school, you do need to know just about everything. :/ it's all important.

You're doing it wrong..

Ar least the book contains good info, imagine having to search for info in all those pages.

-nods- I used to be in veterinary medicine, and sadly, they thought every single sentence in the book was important. It makes sense in medicine-related studies, though - lives are going to depend on what you learn.
